Windows Phone 8 announced

Just days after the reveal of Microsoft’s Surface Tablet, the Redmond based company has unveiled Windows Phone 8, their new mobile operating system. The major change from Windows Phone 7 comes in the form of the Homescreen, which will now show much more information than before, and will provide complete customisation to alter its look. Other headline features include NFC, dual and quad-core compatibility, Wallet Hub and Skype integration. Although early adopters of the Windows Phone 7 platform will not be able to upgrade to this latest version. Instead, they will be given a different OS upgrade in the form of Windows Phone 7.8. This version will still include the revamped home screen, but will miss out on many other features.
