Amongst the usual bug fixes that Facebook have fixed in this latest update of their Messenger app, they have introduced a couple of new features in addition. The first one is the ability to record and send voice messages to Facebook friends, which is new to the service altogether, and the other one is the ability to call friends for free via the World Wide Web.
This seems to be a fascinating move for the social networking giant, as it is the first major social network (Google+ doesn’t count in my book) to offer such a service.
It also shows that Facebook wants to get into the Internet calling business, taking on services like Skype, Google Voice and Viber.
The full changelog is below, and you can update the Messenger app through your iDevice’s App Store. If you haven’t got it yet, you can download it here.
