iPhone 5S said to be ready for a July release, iPad mini to receive a Retina Display

After Jeremy Horwitz revealed quite a lot of intriguing information about upcoming iPads and iPhones, he has revealed more specific information surrounding both products.

First, he has more information about the iPhone 5S. He says that while it is still a while away from mass production, his sources believe that it will have an upgraded rear camera. Specifically, it will have Sony’s recently released 13 megapixel sensor, which is quite a substantial upgrade over the iPhone 5’s 8 megapixel sensor. His sources also believe that if all goes well, it could be ready for a July release.

Next, the iPad mini. Details on the iPad mini are still relatively sketchy, but as most people are speculating, it will remain mostly unchanged, except for a Retina Display. Horwitz believes that like the 5th generation iPad, it will adopt Sharp’s IGZO display in the interest of energy efficiency, and it is also believed to be ready for an October launch.
