iOS Gaming Apps Must Haves for the 2nd Quarter of 2013

Three months into 2013 and it already appears that this will be among the best years for gaming that we have seen in a long time.  While many great gaming apps for iOS have come out, there are others due out for iOS that many are chomping at the bit to play.  Below are some of our picks for the 2nd quarter of 2013.

Space Hulk

This game put out by Full Control is basically a spin-off of Warhammer 40,000.  In this game, you and a squad of Space Marine Terminators, or Space Hulk for short, will fight off waves of invading aliens known as Genestealers. One of the main features of the game is a multiplayer feature that pits opponents head-to-head in the ultimate battle of wits.

Real Racing 3

When it comes to photo realism on the iPad or iPhone, nothing has topped Real Racing 3.  This game has real world vehicles in perfect detail, down to even the small reflections off the windows and paint job.  In addition to the outstanding graphics, this newest title by EA features real world tracks, new cars, asynchronous multiplayer, and a expanded campaign mode.  This title was recently released and will be easily be a contender for game of the year.

This game garnered a lot of attention early for its amazing, attention-grabbing graphics.  The concept of the game is to guide a young woman to safety in this stealthy horror survival game.  However, the concept isn’t what you would think.  You aren’t guiding the heroine named Hope in this adventure.  Instead, you are hacking into the surveillance systems to and helping to guide her.  This title by Camoflaj was largely backed by Kickstarter and will one of the more unique gaming concepts of 2013.

The Drowning

If the continued success of The Walking Dead is any indicator, the zombie genre is showing no signs of slowing down.  As a result, Scattered Entertainment will release yet another zombie-esque style title in The Drowning.  This time, the zombies are really mutants and the world is infected with them as a result of a strange toxic sludge.  The highlight of this game will be an experiment in first-person controls where you will use you fingers for the gun sightings instead of dual sticks.  Combined with excellent graphics, this should keep the zombie fanatics occupied for a while.
