Apple delays launch of iTunes refresh

At Apple’s September iPhone event, they debuted a new, much improved version of the iTunes app for Mac. The release of this new version was expected to be October, as was previously advertised on Apple’s website. However, Apple have now delayed the launch of this new iTunes until November.

Talking to AllThingsD, Apple spokesman Tom Neumayr said

The new iTunes is taking longer than expected and we wanted to take a little extra time to get it right. We look forward to releasing this new version of iTunes with its dramatically simpler and cleaner interface and seamless integration with iCloud before the end of November.

Although it is a bigger wait for this new iTunes, hopefully the extra time will give Apple an opportunity to make many improvements to the app. And considering Apple’s previous history of releasing things before they’re ready (we’re looking at you, maps), this delayed launch should be beneficial.
